Frequently Asked Questions

What grades do you serve? For the 2026-2027 school year, we will serve grades Kindergarten-7th Grade.

Will you eventually be K-12? Yes. VCA will grow in grades each year with the ultimate goal being a K-12 campus.

Where will the school be located? We are still in the final stages of securing a location for the 2026-2027 school year, but we will likely be in Portland, Texas, or one of the surrounding areas of the Coastal Bend.

Is VCA year-round private school? No, VCA is not year-round school. We follow a 10-month school calendar (August-May) and take a summer break.

How many days does VCA meet? VCA meets Monday-Thursday, 8:30am to 3:30pm. At this time, we do not offer after-school care during the school week or on Fridays. Also, Fridays are not homeschool days.

What is yearly tuition? Annual tuition is $10,200 per student.

How do we access vouchers? Vouchers are offered through Texas Education Freedom Accounts. More information about this program can be found by accessing the TEFA website.

How do vouchers pay for tuition and fees? TEFA funds are expected to begin disbursement according to the program’s website. While vouchers are a tremendous blessing for families, they can create cash flow challenges for schools, as our obligations must be met monthly regardless of when voucher funds arrive.

  • Each family is responsible for complete, on-time tuition and fee payments: All families must maintain an automated payment plan and continue making scheduled payments even if a voucher is expected but delayed. If direct family payments plus voucher funds exceed the annual tuition amount, VCA will refund the overpayment to the family once full-year tuition has been received.

  • Recommendations for Voucher Families: Families fully dependent on vouchers should select a 10-month payment plan with a 20th-of-the-month due date, allowing maximum time for voucher funds to arrive. All voucher families should familiarize themselves with the TEFA process.

How much does it cost to apply? There is a $50 application fee per student, due with the application. This fee must be paid in order for your application to be processed. There is also a $200 enrollment fee required for new students (Family maximum of $750). There are no fee refunds.

What is the curriculum fee? The curriculum fee for the 2026-2027 school year is $200 per student.

One2One Tuition: One tuition payment includes placement for your student in Valor Christian Academy as well as an education scholarship for one child in a developing nation. Supported schools are in the Philippines, Guatemala, and Kenya.

Payment Details:

  • Tuition may be paid in full, on a 12-month plan (June-May) or on a 10-month plan (August-May). Partial-year tuition will be prorated.

  • Pay in Full Discount: There is a 2% tuition discount if you pay in full by June 15.

  • Founding Family Discount: There is a 5% discount on annual tuition for each student that enrolls with Valor Christian Academy in its founding school year, 2026-2027. This Founding Family Discount will be applied annually until each child in your family graduates from VCA.

Are scholarships and discounts available? Valor Christian Academy is in partnership with the unique mission model of One2One Education through the Valor Global Foundation. This means that because of your child's tuition payments, another child in one of our partner schools around the world also receives the blessing of an education. We, therefore, do not generally offer tuition assistance apart from the discounts listed above, as they would significantly reduce our ability to maintain this core value and mission mindset.

As VCA continues to grow, we hope to offer scholarships for our VCA families. If you would like to donate to our scholarship fund to increase our scholarship availability, please click on the “GIVE” link at the top of this webpage. Thank you for your support.

Tuition and Billing Information: The stability of our school and the quality of its programs are of the utmost importance. We have partnered with Valor Global Online and Veracross to help us manage our tuition payment program and billing of incidentals. We are excited to be working with them and to provide a secure, convenient payment option for families. You will realize these benefits by using our services for your tuition payment plan:

  • Payment Dates: You may choose either the 5th or the 20th of each month as your payment date. Automatic payments can be made from a checking or savings account or from a variety of credit cards.

  • Convenience & Security: Along with multiple payment methods, your payments are processed securely through a bank-to-bank transaction.

  • Consumer Account: You may check your personal account or make payments online from the convenience of your home or office anytime.

  • One of the universal challenges in education is achieving a balance between our educational mission and financial stability. We will work with families should special circumstances or hardship cases arise during the school year.

Withdrawal: Sometimes, circumstances are such that students need to leave after classes begin. This includes any withdrawal from the first day of school, up to the final week of school. Students leaving at the end of a school year will be formally exited, and transcripts released, upon completion of the current school year's payment plan.

Please send formal withdrawal notice to vcaadmin@valorschool.org with the student’s name, grade level, and final date of attendance. VCA tuition for the month of withdrawal is not prorated, and VCA will bill for the entire withdrawal month plus a withdrawal fee of $500 per full-time student. This fee covers all One2One commitments.

What is Valor Global Online? VGO is a school from home. It is fully accredited, has a Biblical foundation, offer online-live classes to its students, in-person events for its families, and founded the unique One2One Mission model. Valor Christian Academy is in partnership with VGO. We, therefore, hold the same Biblical foundation, One2One mission model, and curriculum values as VGO.

Is Valor Christian Academy online, too? VCA offers fully in-person instruction for our students in Portland. We do not have an online component.
